Reframing Monoprints
The reframing series was a way for me to express my need to allow space to grow without external expectations. In many of my pieces I painted gilded frames. It seemed like an appropriate analogy since they are often used to put families, experiences and ideas into traditionally confined stagnate boxes. In an effort to reframe my own life I’m setting free archaic ideas of what we value enough to put in a frame. I want to take the frame off the wall, dust the frame off, examine it, remove the picture, and break the glass. Then I will put the frame where you might not expect it. A place where it may warp, chip, and be overgrown. But growth it ultimately will have.
