In The Studio

The art of Printmaking entails a wide range of techniques, I practices a few of them including, relief, silkscreen and monoprinting.  Relief printing is my favorite.  Relief printmaking means to cut away portions of  a surface, and what remains makes up the image to be printed.  I like to carve my blocks with the intention of printing in a single color, usually black, and then individually hand painting each piece.  I will use watercolors, colored pencils, inks and mixed media to accomplish my painting.  Each piece can be extensively altered with the medium used and the pallet chosen.  Thus creating unique individual works with my identical relief prints.
